What is the key to having a winning team? According to many experts, having a great quarterback under center really improves your chances of winning... this next 2008 season will be a weird year regarding the Quarterback position for many teams, here In this post Ill try to observe the teams with the most unstable QB situations and the way the future will likely pan out...

1. Miami Dolphins: Josh McCown, John Beck, Chad Henne. This might be the team with the worst situation of all, but after preseason, my prediction of the Depth Chart standings for this season will be: 1. John Beck 2. Josh McCown 3. Chad Henne. Henne is a great QB, dont get me wrong, and he is their future, but this is just not his year, he will probably replace beck in the late 2009 season or 2010.
2. Kansas City Chiefs: Damon Huard, Brodie Croyle, Tyler Thigpen and David Green. Another really unstable team with a weird qb status, although in this one the first place is easier to predict, it will be Damon Huard at 1, however he is a veteran and if things fail Croyle its a decent backup for now, but between Thighpen and Green, they should probably be picking in the first 5 rounds next year and drafting their next franchise great.
3. Baltimore Ravens: The other team with the greatest controversy under center, Steve McNair called it quits this season, so you now have Kyle Boller as #1 and I think it will stay that way, after preseason is over the depth chart will be 1. Kyle Boller 2. Joe Flacco 3. Troy Smith

4. Minnesota Vikings: Of all the teams in this list, this one is the closest one to a super bowl victory, the team has been built up really great through the last years, and their last remaining chip would be the QB situation... they have a LOT of  QBs currently on their squad, but will probably drop 2 of them, they currently have Tarvaris Jackosn, Gus Frerotte, Brooks Bollinger, Kelly Holcomb, and rookie John David Booty who in my opinion is the future of the Franchise in no less than 2 years, however the depth chart will be 1. Tarvaris 2. John David and 3. Frerotte, the other 2 veterans will probably be cut and land a backup job somewhere.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The other team with a full roster of quarterbacks and some insecurity as who will be number 1, its true Garcia is good, but he is also old, he is Brett Favre's age!!! besides him they have Bruce Gradkowski, Brian Griese, Luke McCown, Chris Simms and Josh Johnson, now this team I think will remain with 4 QBs, mainly because of Garcia's Age and close retirement... so the chart will probably be 1. Garcia 2. Gradkowski 3. Griese and 4. Josh Johnson, being Simms and McCown the ones who get the boot and probably go to backup someone else...

Other teams worth mentioning: San Francisco 49ers (Shaun Hill and Alex Smith), Washington Redskins (Todd Collins and Jason Campbell), Arizona Cardinals (Matt Leinart and Kurt Warner), Cleveland Browns (Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn) and last but not least, the recent new battle that will have everyones eyes on preseason the Green Bay Packers (Brian Brohm and Aaron Rodgers)

Lets hear the comments...

The Buccaneers are passing through a weird phase in their offseason, they have actually 6 quarterbacks on their roster, not to mention the seventh, who you could still count because he never filed the correct paperwork for retirement (Jake Plummer, look closely in middle of pic).
For the other 6 quarterbacks, only time and practice will tell.

Whats the deal? why 6, it turns out, the odds are not so bad, because their starting QB is Jeff Garcia, so he has a secure place on the team, and is coming off a pro bowl season...... but, hes 38 years old!!!! (same as Favre) so retirement is pretty close, behind him, will be probably Brian Griese, who is 33 years old and is nothing more than a wise old veteran, but Gruden likes this kind of players, remember Rich Gannon on the Raiders? or Brad Johnson with the Bucs?

Those are by now the only two spots secure for the third spot the battle is between Bruce Gradkowski, Luke McCown and Rookie Josh Johnson from San Diego State University...
Chris Simms will probably be cut soon, and the fate of someone else is in Grudens hands... in my opinion they should remain with Garcia, Griese, Gradkowski and Johnson. If this happens, Luke McCown will be a talented Free Agent QB for some teams interested, maybe also Chris Simms, but his health is always a question mark...
