Some rookie players take some time to adapt to the game, and most of them don't even play for their team, for the first whole year. Almost always, when a team drafts a player, they do it as a long term investment, and rarely do they want immediate results.
This is not the case for Tulane RB Matt Forte, who may have been drafted by the Chicago Bears as a long term investment, and now will have to step up an be a leader, unless the Bears sign some more experienced free agent (Kevin Jones, Travis Henry, Shaun Alexander), nevertheless the long term plan should include Mr. Forte, and thanks to Cedric Benson's mishaps, he now has a really important role in the offense.
Forte, garnered the most attention during the Senior Bowl, where he was named the overall MVP... this reminds me of LaDainian Tomlinson who after an impressive senior bowl game, he quickly got the eye from scouts and was drafted really high back in 2001.
We will keep you updated as the season goes along of Mr. Forte's development as a running back, to see if he can be a stud rookie running back and have a big impact his first year, just as Marshawn Lynch, Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, and Maurice Jones-Drew, did for their teams in the past.
